E3 Smoked Plum Liquor Warehouse

The building was added in the 1930s during the Monopoly Bureau Taipei Distillery period. It was originally used as a warehouse for self-produced goods. After the war, it was repurposed to store black plum wine and Fu liquor. It is said that the name originated when an artist discovered plum wine stored in the warehouse. The building’s three exterior walls are khaki in color, setting it apart from other structures in the park. Six copper vents on the roof, along with grille windows beneath the eaves and at the base of the walls, help maintain air circulation. Hollow bricks were used in the construction to provide thermal insulation. The building features as many as eight entrances and exits on all four sides. Inside, metal trusses support the structure, and light rails have been preserved for transporting goods.
